The EUBIQ DS4 housing is a modular support with a universal Keystone format, designed to integrate directly into the SH1 and RH2 wall trunking from the EUBIQ range. It allows you to create an RJ45, USB, or HDMI socket neatly integrated into your trunking, without drilling into the wall or needing specific tools. It is a solution particularly suited to offices, open-plan spaces, and meeting rooms where organizing network cables is essential. Please note that the DS4 is intended exclusively for these two EUBIQ trunking models and compatibility with other brands such as Legrand or Hager is not guaranteed.

The DS4 housing accepts all modules in the universal Keystone format, giving it great versatility. You can insert an RJ45 Cat 5e, 6, or 6A connector for your Ethernet network installations, a USB Keystone module for charging or data transfer, or even an HDMI Keystone module for high-definition video. An important precaution, however: before purchasing, check the depth of the Keystone module you wish to use. Some connectors, particularly in Cat 6A, may prove too deep to fit correctly depending on the space available behind your trunking.

The DS4 housing is sold without a Keystone connector. It is only the support intended to hold the module of your choice. You will therefore need to order the Keystone connector adapted to your needs separately: RJ45 Cat 5e, Cat 6, Cat 6A, USB, or HDMI. This offers you total flexibility to customize each connection point according to your network or multimedia installation.

Installing the DS4 housing is quick and requires no special tools. Here are the steps to follow: start by choosing your Keystone module, checking its depth relative to the trunking. Then, clip the module into the DS4 housing using the integrated locking mechanism. Insert the assembly into an available slot in your SH1 or RH2 trunking. Connect your network cable to the back of the RJ45 connector according to the T568A or T568B wiring scheme, then close the trunking. Your socket is immediately ready to use, providing a clean and professional result.

The difference is fundamental in terms of the installation method. A standard wall-mounted RJ45 socket requires embedding a box in the wall, which involves drilling or even cutting channels. The DS4 housing clips directly into surface-mounted trunking (SH1 or RH2) without any work on the wall itself. It is therefore the ideal solution for professional spaces such as open-plan offices or meeting rooms, where recessed installation is not possible or desired. As a bonus, the installation remains fully reversible and modular.

When connecting your RJ45 Keystone connector to the back of the DS4 housing, two wiring standards are commonly used: T568A and T568B. In France and in the majority of European professional installations, the T568B standard is the most widespread. The essential thing is to follow the same standard at both ends of your network cable to ensure a functional connection. RJ45 Keystone connectors are generally marked with both color schemes directly on the module, which facilitates connection even without prior experience.

The number of DS4 housings you can integrate into SH1 or RH2 trunking depends directly on the number of available slots on your trunking, as well as the other modules already in place (power outlets, switches, etc.). The SH1 and RH2 trunking features a 337.5 mm chassis that can accommodate several standardized modules. To optimize your installation, plan the layout of your various connectors in advance to make the most of the available space.
